To determine experimentally , the ultimate shear strength in double shear of mild steel rod.
Universal testing machine, Shear attachments,Vernier calipers.
Take the mild steel rod specimen and determine the diameter of the specimen using vernier calipers.
The mild steel rod is placed in the shear attachments and placed into the Universal Testing machine.
The machine is switched ON & the load is gradually increased until the specimen is fractured and the required load is noted down.
Calculate the double shear strength on mild steel rod.
